Owon and Hanmatek build cheap but well equipped oscilloscopes for the worldwide market. The devices of these manufacturers can be found in Asia, Europe and the USA. The devices are very popular, because they bring everything you need for your home laboratory.

The oscilloscope is distributed by Hanmatek under the name DOS1102. Owon calls it SDS1102. The oscilloscope has an analog bandwidth of 110 Mhz at a sampling rate of 1Ga/s. This means that signals up to 110Mhz are still captured with almost 10 data points and therefore the upper limit of the oscilloscope can be used. The device has two channels and has the usual and well-known trigger types Edge and Video. There are the trigger modes Auto, Normal and Single.

Beginner, advanced and hobby oscilloscope DOS1102 from Hanmatek.

The scope has two analog input channels, designed as BNC sockets. Two passive probes are included, which allow a direct start. On the bottom right side of the oscilloscope a pin is provided to adjust the probes. This allows a clean calibration of the probes, as it is usual done with oscilloscopes. Each probe has a switch from x1 to x10, i.e. 10-fold attenuation for high frequencies.

The channels of the oscilloscope can be faded in and out individually. The time scale is adjusted by the scale button, as usual. The smallest unit is 2ns/div, which can be sampled per 1Ga/s per second on one channel or 500MSa/s on two channels. Vertically, 5mv/div to 5V/div can be set.

The device has a math function and simple arithmetic operations can be performed. Alternatively, an FFT can be made, which then displays the spectrum live. The display has a resolution of 800x480 pixels.

The device measures 11.85 x 5.98 x 2.76 inches. The device weighs 3.5 pounds.
