In addition to electronic measuring instruments, laboratory setups and oscilloscopes, a decent workshop also includes classic measuring equipment. One of them is a digital protractor , which makes it very easy to measure an angle.
A protractor or angle finder is used to detect angles and inclinations. Everyone still knows the classic form from his school: the set square. However, if you want to remodell your apartment or house, you will need protractor for determining angles of walls and other objects. Digital protracters digitally determine the angles and display them on a display.
There are two types of digital angle finders. The first type looks like a classic ruler, but it consists of two halves, each of which has a measurement scale. If you fold up the digital angle and set an angle, it will be displayed on the LCD scale. In principle, this works like a set square, but the angles are read digitally.
The second type is used to determine inclinations. You can think of this as a spirit level with digital display. For the spirit level, only a horizontal misalignment is displayed. A digital protractor for determining inclinations measures the actual angle. This is very helpful in construction.
Digital protractors are available in both versions of different sizes and for different applications. Smaller instruments are suitable for crafts, drawing and smaller work. Larger instruments are more likely to be used in the house or for renovation. All sizes have their raison d'être, depending on the purpose. The most popular digital protracters are presented below.
